Dr. William H. Foster, Sr. is the anointed pastor, Servant-Leader of the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
Dr. Foster is considered a leader of leaders who impact those around him by sharing his servant heart.His biblically based, doctrinally sound teaching and preaching has led many to a deeper depth in spirituality and a precise decision for Christ. Dr. Foster's passion for the global work of the Church has been a driving force behind his commitment to continuous spiritual aspirations in the District, State, and National Level.
Dr. Foster's pastoral experience began at the age of 28 as Pastor of Greater First Baptist Church. Dr. Foster pastored Tabernacle Baptist Church of Evanston,IL for 5 years. He has been the shepherd of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church since 1995.
Dr. Foster married Louise Marshall in 1957. In 2007 they renewed vows on their 50th year anniversary.
They are the proud parents of 9 children. Dr. Foster attended the Chicago Baptist Institute and received his BTH and Associate Arts Degree. Dr. Foster also received an Honorary Doctorate of Divinity from Mckinley Theological Seminary. Dr. Foster received his Master's Degree from Booker Morris College.
Dr. Foster served as President of the United Baptist Sate Convention of Illinois Inc. Congress of Christian Education, and on June 9, 2010 he became President of Convention. He currently serves as Song Worship Leader for the Moderator's Division of the National Baptist Convention USA Inc., board member of International Ministers & Community Alliance, and board member of National Save the Family Movement.
